Designers must have been enchanted by the world of fairies, sprites and nymphs. Glancing at the most recent runway updates, it looks like these mythical creatures were the inspiration for several influential designers in their Spring/Summer 2008 collections.

But beyond the vast expansion of this magical fashion world, Prada stood up among the rest. Miuccia Prada, the “high priestess” of Italian fashion, bowed to evolutionary change and offered a new vision which was all about an imaginary, natural beauty. Her collection for spring/summer 2008 was like a flower fairy fantasy for grown-ups, inspired by the erotic Art Nouveau movement of the 19th century.
